Friday, February 9 - Paris-Rennes-Granville

 After a smooth flight, we arrived 20 minutes early in Paris and had plenty of time to change terminals for our connexion to Rennes where we were welcomed by our tour leaders Christophe and Ilias.

We had a fantastic lunch enjoying the famous crêpes and galettes from Brittany downtown Rennes where the students were immediately immersed in the French language and culture. After a small walking tour in Rennes, we continued our journey to Normandy on a very comfortable bus. We arrived in Granville at 6:30pm and settled in CRNG, a nautical center overlooking the English Channel.

Students received more information on our schedule and the goals of the program before reflecting on their first impressions of France.

We headed up to another delicious meal before having a glimpse at the carnival ambiance downtown Granville, a short walk from where we stay.

We had a tiring but exciting first day, and everybody is ready to go to sleep.

Quand nous sommes arrivés à Rennes, nous avons été surpris car c'était très différent de San José. L'architecture était plus ancienne et plus belle. Ensuite, nous avons pris un gros bus pour manger des crêpes françaises. Ce sont les meilleures crêpes que j'aie jamais mangées.

Ensuite, nous sommes allés à l'hôtel où nous avions une vue sur l'océan Atlantique. Il y avait aussi des lumières colorées du carnaval. Nous sommes tellement excités pour le reste du voyage.


When we arrived in Rennes, we were surprised because it was very different from San José. The architect was older and beautiful. Then we took a big bus to eat French crepes. These are the best crepes I have ever eaten.

Then we went to the hotel where we had a view of the Atlantic Ocean. There were also colorful carnival lights. We are so excited for the rest of the trip.
